Where do I actually claim the FIRPTA money back, and why does the refund take so long?
The buyer withheld a big chunk under FIRPTA on my US sale and I have the stamped statement. As a foreign individual, where on my return do I claim that as a credit? And I keep hearing refunds can take months — is that true, and is there any way to get my money back faster than waiting for the whole return cycle?
