The IRS denied my penalty relief request. Is there still a next step?
I am in Australia and already submitted a written request to remove a penalty related to my foreign-owned LLC. The IRS denied it. I am now unsure whether that means I have reached the end of the road or whether I can still ask for some kind of independent review.
The rejection letter mentions appeal rights, but I do not know how formal that process is or whether it is only for very large cases.
