I refunded an eBay buyer outside the platform. Did I mess up the tax reporting?
I am a Brazilian seller using a Delaware LLC for U.S. eBay sales. One buyer complained after delivery, and I refunded them through PayPal instead of the eBay refund workflow because it felt faster. The order had marketplace tax collected by eBay at checkout.
Now I am worried that the tax portion might not have been reversed correctly. I only do about $55,000 a year on eBay, but I want my books and refunds to stay clean.
