I got my EIN already, but now the ownership and mailing address changed. Do I need to update the IRS?
I am based in the UAE and formed my LLC last year. We already have an EIN, but since then the mailing address changed and my co-founder bought out the other founder, so the responsible party changed too. Revenue is still minimal, but I want the IRS records to be correct before our first filing season.
Some people say these updates do not matter unless the IRS sends a notice. Others say responsible-party changes have to be reported quickly. I want to know which is right.
