Does storing inventory in Amazon FBA warehouses create sales tax nexus for my foreign LLC?
I run a foreign-owned LLC and use Amazon FBA. My products end up in warehouses in California, Texas, New Jersey, and a few other states I can't even track properly. Amazon moves my inventory around without telling me.
Do I need to register for sales tax in every single state where my products sit in an Amazon warehouse? I thought Amazon handles all the sales tax now? My accountant back home doesn't understand the U.S. system and I'm getting conflicting advice from different forums.
Also, can I get in trouble retroactively for not being registered in states where I had inventory in prior years?
