My merch sales and sponsorship money are in the same LLC. Do I really need separate books or just better tags?

I am in South Korea and run a creator business through a U.S. LLC. Until now the company mostly made money from sponsorships and platform payouts, but I recently added merch through a print-on-demand shop. I kept everything under the same entity because I did not want to overcomplicate the structure.

Now my accountant is telling me to separate merch revenue and related costs from my media revenue. I am not sure whether that means truly separate bookkeeping systems or just smarter categories inside the same LLC. I want the practical answer, not a theoretical one.
